Welcome! This site is a resource for Writing Program Administrators to use for both determining if hybrid (also known as blended) writing courses are right for their program and thinking through the elements involved in adopting hybrid writing classes. In researching hybrid writing classes, I found that much research exists for instructors, but there are many fewer resources for an administrator’s point of view. As a result, the WPA’s Hybrid Guide was born.

The WPA’s Hybrid Guide breaks down various elements of the hybrid classroom. You can learn what a hybrid classroom ishow other institutions have implemented hybrids, and how to prepare instructors. You can explore some neat technology tools for the classroom. Or, you can start with the highlight reel: Frequently Asked Questions.

This site is intended to be a collaborative, interactive conversation about introducing hybrid courses to a First Year Writing Program curriculum.
